ABOUT US
HealthPad is a socially conscious digital healthcare company, whose main purpose is to support health professionals improve their patients’ health and well-being. We do this by designing and developing high quality easy-to-use healthcare dashboards. These enable health professionals to quickly and easily distribute premium, reliable and evidence-based information to their patients in video format.
HealthPad has a large and growing proprietary content library of over 6,000 concise videos, contributed by leading health professionals from world class medical institutions across the world. Our videos address patients’ FAQs for over 25 therapeutic pathways.
HEALTHPAD DASHBOARDS
Our new HealthPad dashboards are bespoke, simple to use devices that help primary care health professionals quickly and easily prescribe information videos, designed to help their patients improve their knowledge of their condition/s.
DESIGNED BY PROFESSIONALS
The dashboard has been designed with significant input from both doctors and patients. It encourages patients to take greater ownership of their health by empowering them with relevant and reliable knowledge about their condition/s, while increasing their connectivity with their local health professionals.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Our initial dashboard is comprised of 40 short (60 to 80 seconds in length) videos, pre-packaged into four separate clusters of 10, to address: (i) type-2 diabetes, (ii) heart disease, (iii) stroke and (iv) well-being. The videos are drawn from HealthPad’s large and growing library and have been organised with the help of GPs to address questions frequently asked by patients. HealthPad has a pipeline of further clusters that address additional conditions.
EASY TO USE
During a consultation, all a health professional has to do is to log onto the device, which is displayed as an icon on their computer screen, choose a cluster of videos relevant to their patient, select their preferred language, enter their email and hit send. The patient will then receive an email with a link to the videos informing them about their condition/s.
The dashboard supports the NHS Long Term Plan by taking, “advantage of the opportunities that science and technology offer patients, carers and those that serve them,” and it is expected to fall within the rules described in the General Practice Forward View, which allow, “up to 100% reimbursement of . . . . direct practice investment in tech to support better online tools”.
WHY VIDEOS
In an average doctor-patient consultation, patients only remember about 20% of the information discussed. We can improve this. By helping doctors to quickly and easily send a cluster of educational videos to patients’ mobiles we support doctors in their duty of care by assisting them provide their patients with high quality credible online health information that they will remember and share.
Videos are one of the most effective mediums to convey health information. Currently, over 50% of video content is viewed on mobiles and 92% of mobile video viewers share videos with others. Research has shown that people retain 95% of information when they watch a video compared to 10% when reading text, and videos are shared 1,200% more times than links and text combined. This is because 90% of information transmitted to your brain is visual and visuals are processed 60,000X faster in your brain than text. According to Cisco, by 2021, 82% of all consumer web traffic will be video, which is faster and easier than the written word to impart information.
